Camp Philosophy Bear Paw Hockey Camp is designed to give boys and girls the opportunity to develop their hockey skills. The camp will be fun but challenging so that all participants will enjoy the experience. Emphasis on the fundamentals (skating, passing, stick handling and shooting) of hockey will be stressed. Along with individual skills, team concepts and teamwork will be encouraged. Hockey is a team sport where it is essential that every player participate. The Camp objective is to provide a fun atmosphere to enhance student learning. Low instructor to student ratio allows many hours of individual instructional time. Coach Pen believes hockey is a wonderful sport that can be enjoyed for a lifetime. Elite Camp Philosophy This camp is designed to help the athlete who has a good grasp of individual fundamentals. The main objective is to enhance their knowledge about the sport of hockey as a whole. Topics to be taught will include: breakouts, line rushes, cycling, defensive zone coverage, neutral zone regroups, back checking, fore checking, one on one, two on one, three on two, and checking. Other topics to be covered creating the all around athlete include nutrition, mental preparation, and off ice conditioning. About Bear Paw Hockey Bear Paw Hockey is incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit. Bear Paw Hockey, Inc. admits participants of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to participants in its camp. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its admission policies or scholarship programs. All proceeds from the 2005 Aspen camp will benefit Colorado Junior Hockey programs. All contributions to Bear Paw Hockey above and beyond the registration fee are tax deductible. |
